Windows 8.1 Allows You to Project to a TV

Windows 8.1: Miracast

As I was sitting in the stands of Microsoft’s annual Partner conference keynote last week, something caught my eye during the demo of Windows 8.1. Miracast.

Miracast allows you to project to a TV screen. It doesn’t require an adapter, projector, or cable connector. It simply uses a wi-fi connection and projects anything on your Windows 8.1 device to the screen. That includes a presentation, document, and even a whiteboard option.

With Miracast, the conference room is simplified. Less equipment is needed and the setup time for use is reduced. All you need is Windows 8.1 when it becomes available later this year.
