Handy Alt+Tab Alternative for Windows 7

You want to access one of the five Explorer windows you have open, but there are so many other programs running that Alt+Tab makes it hard to pick out what you need. The solution? Hold down the Ctrl key while you click on the Explorer icon. Windows 7 will then cycle through the Explorer windows only, a much quicker way to locate the right one. And of course this works with any application that has multiple windows open.

  1. Works for me. I have two tabs open in IE10 and if I hold down the Ctrl key and then click the IE icon in the Taskbar it switches from one tab to the other. Also did it with four tabs open and it worked fine. Not sure it’s much easier than clicking on a tab to bring it to the front, but the handy alternative works. BTW, this is on a Mac running Parallels and Windows 7.

  2. are you talking about if your using internet explorer browser? because using ctrl key and windows key does nothing. Its like getting driving directions.people are horrible at it.
