Microsoft’s Windows 8 should be making its debut around October 2012. For PC manufacturers, that will have the new OS it means that a new format for multiple OS operations will be strictly limited. At the heart of this is the notion that all Windows 8 licensed hardware will be shipping with secure boot enabled by default in their replacement for the BIOS, Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI). What ever happened to the thing of i go out and buy the OS and computer hardware it belongs to me not Microsoft or PC manufactures. I’m glad im trying to learn the Linux distros. Sounds like the movie industry again. you buy a dvd and its yours and you cant make copy’s of it for back up or archiving. Greedy industry’s.
Win 98, let's screw it up, so Win ME.
Win XP, let's screw it up, so Win Vista.
Win 7, let's screw it up, so Win 8.
Linux is the way to go.
Maybe it is time to sell Microsoft stock?

Jump Ship…… Keep an old machine with XP or Win 7, otherwise work with OS 10 or Linux….
Virtual machines should be able to run earlier versions of Win.
But I agree, one more reason to avoid Win 8 if you can.
Another reason to avoid Windows 8. No multiboot option. In other words, PC’s with the Windows 8 format, will only be able to use Windows 8, no multiple OS on track, not even XP.
